Previously known as Leo Market, House of Lions is an escrow darknet market that features the Agora layout. It is a relatively small dark web marketplace that only featured hundreds of listings at the time we did this review. Nevertheless, it is a promising market with a good looking and intuitive website, referral program, and escrow payment system.

How to Access the House of Lions Marketplace
The House of Lions Market is assigned the Onion URL link address http://leomarketjdridoo.onion/register/a5ada0bbf6a418 – which means that it can only be accessed using the Tor browser. It can’t be opened by using ordinary web browsers. House of Lions is part of the dark web, which is more concealed than the deep web. Also, you have to use a VPN service, PGP, and bitcoins if you seriously think of buying or selling items on House of Lions. Understand that this is a dark web market and most of the items being traded here are not meant to be traded publicly.
Using a VPN service allows you to cover your online activity tracks. PGP is used in encrypting the data or messages you exchange with other darknet market users, to prevent leaving any incriminating digital evidence against you. We have a post about using PGP to enable anonymous communication; consider going over it. Bitcoins, on the other hand, is the currency of choice in darknet marketplaces as it enables anonymous transactions.
House of Lions is a referral-only market. You can’t sign up for an account if you don’t use a referral link to access the site. This is not something to worry, though. You can easily get a referral .Onion link URL at the DeepDotWeb website so you can proceed to getting your own House of Lions account.
Registering for a House of Lions account is supposedly a relatively quick process. You will only be asked to nominate your username, password, and PIN. There are fields where you can enter a custom welcome message and your PGP public and private keys but these are optional. However, in our case, we had to repeatedly do the registration because we kept falling short of the required number of digits for the PIN.
We only successfully got an account after entering a 16-digit PIN. The minimum is probably around 12 digits. It would have been better if House of Lions were generous enough to indicate the minimum number of digits required for the PIN code. Many will likely enter only 4 digits because this is what most others darknet markets require.
All accounts are registered as buyers by default. To become a vendor, you have to apply for it. The Become a Vendor button is found on the Wallet page. You will be required to have a minimum of 0.001 BTC in your wallet for your vendor application to be approved. House of Lions does not offer free vendor accounts.
The House of Lions Market Account Interface and Functions
House of Lions sports a good looking and intuitive website with well laid out elements. It should be easy to find the link or section you are looking for. The links to the most important pages on the site are located on top, just below the House of Lions logo.
The homepage immediately shows the categories and listings available on the site but the listings are shown in a grid so the quick details shown are limited (the actual listings page presents listings in rows).
If you want to do changes in your account, go to the Profile page. This page allows you to change your password, modify your PIN, add a custom welcome message, and add an optional public account information. The Profile page also presents your balance history and allows you to add a PGP public key and enable two-factor authentication (2FA).
House of Lions has a Messages page but it is mostly just an inbox. There is no button for drafting a message here. If you want to send messages to other House of Lions users, you have to go to the vendor profile pages and use the Send Message button. Be sure to encrypt your messages if ever you wish to communicate with other House of Lions users.
Fees and Referral Program
The House of Lions darknet market charges a transaction fee of 4% of the price charged by a vendor. This fee is deducted from the amount paid by a buyer to a vendor.
House of Lions offers a referral program that shares 20% of the fees charged to a vendor (20% of the 4% transaction fee). This means that the newly registered House of Lions user you were able to refer to the site through your referral link needs to become a vendor first before you can start receiving referral commissions.
Categories and Listings
House of Lions is not as big as other major darknet markets like AlphaBay and Dream Market. It only has a less than a thousand listings in 7 categories. Majority of the listings on the site are related to drugs. The only item prohibited in the site is child pornography. The House of Lions category tree is as shown below, with the number of listings in major categories indicated:
- Drugs (426)
- Cannabis & Hashish
- Services (2)
- Hacker for Hire
- Murder for Hire
- Weapons (4)
- Military Guns
- Mass Destruction
- Long-range Guns
- Hand Weapons
- Fraud Related (54)
- Accounst & Bank Drops
- CVV & Cards
- Personal Information & Scans
- Guides & Tutorials (213)
- Security & Anonymity
- Social Engineering
- Counterfeit Items (19)
- Fake IDs
- Other Listings (0)
The way the categories and listings are shown on House of Lions is similar to that of Dream Market’s. Subcategories appear on top of the main categories as you click on them. Listings are presented in rows (list view) with an image/thumbnail, listing title, shipping information, price, vendor name, and vendor ratings. There’s no listing description but most of the listing titles are written to be somewhat descriptive.
House of Lions Market Search and Search Filters
The search filter in the House of Lions dark web market is a bit limited. It only offers a few sorting options. You have to do a search first before the filters can be implemented. You can then sort search results according to price (lowest to highest), vendor deals (those that offer promos or deals are shown first), and vendor rating (highest to lowest). The other filters available are as follows: specifying how many listings to show per page (15-100) and choosing to have no-FE listings shown first.
If you are wondering why would you want to show non-FE listings first, here’s a brief explanation: non-FE listings are generally more preferable than FE ones. FE indicates that the vendor wants the sale to be finalized early, even before delivery or before the terms of the sale are met, so the payment held in escrow can be released early to the vendor. This means that FE transactions don’t guarantee that you can get your money back in case no delivery is made or in case you receive a defective product.
Anyway, we like how the search filter options can be applied all at once. The House of Lions darknet market search sorting system allows you to select multiple filters first before clicking on the Go button to make the sorting faster and easier.
How to Choose a Vendor
When choosing items to buy on the House of Lions dark web market, it helps scrutinizing the profiles of the vendors that sell the items you are interested in buying. The vendor profiles on House of Lions present the following information:
- Vendor description
- Feedback rate (in percent, positive or negative, computed as the number of positive or negative over all of the feedback given to the vendor)
- Time the vendor has been a registered user of House of Lions
- Buyer feedback
These information can help you decide if it’s worth buying something from a particular vendor. However, we recommend not relying on these details most of the time. It would be good to use other references for vendor information to ascertain a vendor’s reliability. The House of Lions forum can be a good start.
Also, don’t hesitate to use the messaging function of the site to contact vendors for inquiries or clarifications in case you have any. It’s always good ascertaining that you will only be dealing with a vendor that is highly responsive and online most of the time.
Moreover, give preference to vendors that don’t ask you to finalize a sale early (FE). Make good use of House of Lions’ escrow system so you can get your money back in case you fail to receive the item you purchased or if you receive something defective or something that does not match the description or specifications of the item you ordered.
How to Add and Withdraw Funds on House of Lions
Like many other darknet markets, House of Lions makes use of a deposit system. To be able to make purchases, you have to add funds to your account.
To add funds, you have to go to your Wallet page to send bitcoins to the deposit address shown under the Add Funds section. House of Lions will not force you to use different deposit addresses but it is recommended that you generate a new deposit address every time you make a deposit. There’s a Generate New Address button that quickly presents a new address for your deposit transaction.
To withdraw funds from your account, you also have to go to the Wallet page. You might be a bit confused, though, because the Withdrawal section (the one right below the Add Funds section) is also labeled as “Add Funds.” Withdrawing should be a straightforward process. Just enter your bitcoin wallet address, the amount you want to withdraw, and your PIN. By default, your withdrawal will take up to 90 minutes to be completed. However, you have options to withdraw “fast” or “immediately” to shorten the withdrawal time to 45 minutes and 15 minutes respectively. There will be charges for faster withdrawal.
House of Lions sets a minimum withdrawal amount of 0.005 BTC.
To place an order, you have to go to the listing page. Enter the quantity you want and click on the Order Now button. You will then be brought to a page where you have to enter your shipping address. Be sure to encrypt your shipping address before pasting it on the Shipping Message field. You will be asked for your PIN before you can proceed to the next step of the ordering process.
If you have questions about the stealth packaging and delivery of your order, discuss it with the vendor by sending an encrypted message.
Monitor your order through the Orders page. The status is shown on the page along with order activity timestamps and information on the amount held in escrow for a particular order.
Don’t expect orders to be strictly delivered on time. Give some allowance for your waiting time, perhaps a few days longer than the advertised delivery schedule, before you decide to initiate a dispute. If the delay is already unacceptable or if the item you received does not match the listing you ordered, be sure to promptly contact House of Lions support to help settle the problem. The site aims to settle disputes within 3 days although there are instances when disputes take more than a month before a resolution is achieved.
